Today’s post is another foundation review and is one I received at the BLK/OPL Launch party. If you read that post, you already know I was gifted the BLK/OPL True Color Pore Perfection Powder Foundation. BLK/OPL is a brand that makes really affordable makeup and skincare products. I’ve largely stuck to using high–end foundations because they have been the ones that have worked for me. But here I am with an affordable foundation promising to work for my oily skin. How exciting Who knows? Just maybe it may end up replacing my Black|up Mattifying Fluid Foundation.
Here are its claims…
Creme foundation dries to a matte powder finish and helps to minimize the appearance of pores. Color Adjusting Pigments blend for a true tone color match. For normal/Oily skin.
It comes with 2 compartments. The first for the foundation and the second for a powder puff and mirror. So, I primed my skin as usual and did the powder before foundation technique with their Soft Velvet Finishing Powder. I also used my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder over the foundation which is an oil control powder as well.
1.| It gives you medium, build-able coverage with semi – matte finish.
2. | It made my skin so smooth and diminished the appearance of my pores. I got quite a number of complements than I usually got wearing my other foundations which was quite nice to hear.
3. | It was very light weight. Felt super comfortable to wear.
3.| It was quite hard to blend with the powder underneath the foundation. Definitely because of the foundation’s ‘matteness’.
4.| It doesn’t oxidize (Turn darker with wear).
5.| Foundation begins to break down and wear off after many hours of wear. Foundation on my forehead had worn out already.
6.| It won’t do so much for you if you have really oily skin especially in hot weather.
After 2 hours, I noticed my face was glowing so I had to touch up with the finishing powder. My skin immediately became matte and flawless again. I can tell you guys, their finishing powder is so lovely!!!! I did walk under the sun and sweat a lot so after about 6 hours, my face was back to shiny once more. There is oily and there is oiillllly I guess!
I honestly think it is a good budget-friendly foundation that will work with a bit of tweaking here and there. It will especially be good for those colder months or for quick errand days where you aren’t exposed to the sun for too long. If you have combination to normal skin, this is an excellent buy for you.
You can purchase from Kuddy Cosmetics for 4,000Ngn.
