Top Beauty Products of 2017

It’s already 10 days into 2018 and I know I’m probably the last to write about my top beauty products of 2017 but it would only make sense for me to tell you the products that really stood out for me plus the ones that had me feeling luxurious through the year. So here they are!

Top Beauty products of 2017

In the Skincare department…

The Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam was that cleanser that my skin just fell in love with in 2017 and has definitely come to stay. It’s mild on my skin and really helped reduce inflammation and thankfully, my large pores.

Later on in the year, I purchased some products in the Shea Moisture African black Soap line and I absolutely enjoyed using their Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mask. I usually use it when I notice my skin was on the verge of a breakout and need some quick action. I keep it on for about 15 to 20 minutes and still get awesome results.

I also wrote about how I wasn’t really into toners until I discovered the Clarins Toning Lotion which changed my skincare game from 0 to 150. Lol. This toner gives my skin the right amount of glow, refreshes it and a gives me a  moisture boost right after cleansing. Best part for me is, it doesn’t leave my skin oily!

Although Rosemary Essential Oil is mostly used by the beauty community for the hair, I found that jewel works so well for my skin and I know i’m keeping it.  The Natural Nigeria Rosemary Essential Oil really helped smoothing it out and kept inflammation at bay, and for me, that’s priceless!

You probably can’t imagine how much I loved using the Black|Up Ultra Matiffying Rebalancing fluid. Two pumps of this moisturizing goodness keeps me moisturized and also oil free through the day. For an oily girl like me, it’s something i’m probably forever thankful for. I mean, who wants to be walking around Lagos looking like a disco ball?

When it came to Makeup…

I always found myself reaching for my Black|Up Mattifying Fluid Foundation as always since I decided to try them out. In fact, let’s just say I used it all year round. This foundation works so well at giving me skin-like finish, covering up my acne scars and keeping me matt all day. What a winner!

Out of all my palettes I used last year, the Nubian by Juvia’s Place Palette was probably my most used.  This nude palette was my everyday, go-to, travel-buddy palette. The browns, rose golds and warm toned shades in this palette makes it rather effortless for me to create a beautiful eye look and pigment is fire!

When I bought the M.A.C Mineralize Concealer, little did I know I agreed to purchase a concealer that wouldn’t ever make me regret wanting to jump on the highlighting trend. It blends like a dream, it’s lightweight on my skin and gives my skin the right amount of yellow to highlight my skin.

Maybelline lash sensational is probably my all time favorite mascaras. The length and volume it gives my lashes is kind of unbelievable and It works just perfectly for my curly lashes.

Zaron Cosmetics also really impressed me last year with their Long wear Gel Eyeliner in Jade 03. I love the Pop of color it adds to my eyes every time I use it and honestly, that deep green is nothing short of beautiful! Now i’m seriously tempted to buy their other gel liner in midnight blue.

And how can I forget my Maybelline NY Baby lips Lipbalm?! Found this baby and never looked back. I actually said  bye to Chapped lips a while ago!!

For every other thing else…

I’ve been loving and using the Shea Moisture Raw Shea butter Shampoo and Conditioner for my hair, the African Naturalista Deep conditioning Mayonnaise for deep conditioning my hair. Shea Moisture products smell soooo heavenly!!! It’s always an incentive for me to wash my hair.

I asked my sister who was going beauty shopping early last year to buy me a bottle of perfume that she felt smelled nice and she came home with Attimo by Salvatore Ferragamo. Since then, It’s been love all the way.

That’s basically my favorite 2017 products in one, rather long post. What products did you love in 2017?
